My love of vessels and illuminated forms harks back to when I made pottery many years ago. Now using the medium of felt to make such items seems to contradict the assumed solidity that is customary for a vessel. It’s this play on the norm that excites me when working with these forms.
Again, made mostly from Australian merino fleece and often combining other fibres each work is unique and original.. The. physical and time-consuming 'slow-made' process of wet felting is the magic that blends and integrates all the many layers of fibres to produce something totally unlike what can be achieved using any other medium. (see here to see more about the process).
You can see more examples of my sculptural forms on the Artwork & Exhibition page.
